This article will show you how to install Scrapy on Windows 10.
I was searching for this same question and found this solution. Here is what you can follow to setup it on any Windows 10 either its a 32 bit version or a 64 bit version.
The following are the instructions to install Scrapy on Windows 10 x32/x64.
- Install Python2.7. Though Python 3.4 is the latest version at the time of my writing, I would like to explain the steps for 2.7.
- Direct link can be downloaded here
- Add the
C:\python27\andC:\python27\scriptsfolders to the system path by adding those directories to thePATHenvironment variable from the Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings link (Advanced Tab) > Environmental Variables (Button).- Note: I assume that you haven’t changed the default directory during the installation.
- Install OpenSSL:
- Download Win32 OpenSSL page from HERE for your version of Windows and PC architecture
- Download Visual C++ 2008 redistributables for your version of Windows and PC architecture
- Download OpenSSL for your version of Windows and architecture (the regular version, not the light one)
- Add the
c:\openssl-win32\bin(or similar) directory to yourPATH, the same way you addedC:\python27andC:\python27\scriptsabove.
- Install Setuptools (
get-pip.pyshould install Setuptools for you), but, just in case… - Install PIP
- Download
get-pip.pyfrom HERE and save it inC:\python27\scripts - Run
C:\python27\scripts> python get-pip.py
- Download
- Install LXML
- Download
LXML 3.4.6from HERE for your version of Windows and PC architecture. Preferably Win-Amd-64 version. - RUN the installer
- If these steps dont work skip them and goto step 7
- Download
- Install Twisted
- Download Twisted 14.0.2 from here
- Install Scrapy by executing “pip install scrapy”
The installation is completed and create your first project by executing the following command in the folder of your choice.
“scrapy startproject yourprojectname”
